Working to reduce corporate carbon emissions is both environmentally responsible and creates business opportunities. The increased consumer awareness of sustainable products and the increasing risks of climate change have created a market place where carbon responsible companies may benefit their brand and sales. Recent research suggests that employees are happier working with companies who have an active emissions policy whilst consumer research reflects growing concerns about emissions. This concern may create brand and product risks for companies. Government regulation with regard to emissions is likely to increase over the coming years and this will require greater corporate engagement with carbon emissions.
